Looking around at plans. Trying not to get too involved, as the quicker I build a table, the quicker I will be cooking on my green egg. Looking to keep cost down as well.
High possibility of adding a 2nd smaller egg in a few years, so no need to go overboard in this one (yet).
I like the Grill Dome plans as they are pretty thorough (compared to the BGE plans). And seem to utilize wood pretty well with little waste.
I was however just noticing that the table top will be made out of 5 (5/4" x 6") boards which would come to 5.5" wide. At the 30" width they recommend, that would be a 5/8" gap between every board. Heck, even making them flush with the side of the table would be a 1/2" gap between every board. Just seems like an excessive gap.
Has anyone built a variation of this table? If so, what were your modifications?
