I used an inferior sealer on my last cypress top. The boards had checked pretty badly and flew apart in the planer. Had some VERY hard Merbau laying around and decided to put it to good use. Oily wood...used some teak oil and then multiple layers of Spar urethane. Also put a counter top in the garage with it...

Had to remove the top to fix the splitting and peeling finish:

Egg is back at home and ready to cook a few turkeys...
