Hey all...going to take the plunge and buy a MM to go with my large BGE.  The large is currently in a nest.  I'd like to purchase a table that will fit both.  Considering the modular nest units.  Any other suggestions other than the modular?

Thanks in advance!

Sealing an Acacia table

We bought an Acacia table for our large Green Egg. I have a cover for it, but I'd also like to seal it with waterproof sealer if it is not already sealed. Anybody know? If it could use sealing, can I use an oil-based sealer? thanks!

Table complete......for the most part

With the granite top installation this is complete, kind of.  Like with projects many of us have built there are a few things I'd do differently if starting over, but it is what it is.  Frame is white oak with the frame planed to 1" x 4" and legs
1-3/4" x 4".  Granite under the Egg as well as the top is 1-1/4" thick, with the bottom piece polished and the top "leathered".  Total weight of this is >400# with the Egg.  I would look for 4" casters rather than 3" if doing over, as although I don't have far to move it with each use, it's not easy.

The Egg is or rather was 13 years old.  I had a cracked firebox that Bruce warranted and while cleaning out the base I found that it was also cracked.  He also warranted the base, so the primary "hot" parts  with the exception of the fire ring are new.  I opted to update the band & hinge assembly, thermometer and daisy wheel while putting this back together.

Time to fire it up tomorrow!

First posted here about a month ago and was finishing up my table. Several of you eggheads wanted to see a picture, so here it is. Been working off and on on this table for about eight months (yeah - I know i''m slow).

I searched on the Internet for a picture of a table that I liked. I didn't have a plan but the end result looks pretty much like the picture I found. It is made of cypress and I included a granite insert on the top and also have the egg stand resting on a similar piece of granite.

I am am going to perform my first cook this weekend. Will try a pork butt.

I don’t post on here often, but wanted to show off my latest score.  The new US Foods stores that are open to the public have these stainless steel tables for $150 each, so I picked up two.  It definitely helps with my working space and cleans up the entire area.

Table finish/sealer. Oil or stain?

Any table makers have suggestions for which type of finish to use on a kiln dried cedar egg table?  I’m leaning toward an exterior wood oil instead of a stain. Thoughts?

My old Cyprus Table Vs A New Stainless Table/Island/Console

Hi guys,

So I have a L BGE, and I got the large cyprus table at the time. The thing I hate is it looked amazing when I first bought it and stained it a beautiful golden color, but as we all know, eggs get dirty, steak and turkey drippings etc, dirty charcoal and what not, embeds into the egg.....now it just looks dirty, and I never seem to have enough room to put things down.....

Any ideas about whether to rejuvenate it with new dark stain so dirt and grease isnt as noticeable and a stainless counter top.....

Or

Just buy a whole new stainless island outdoor kitchen almost....just to hold the egg and have storage....but that could be with a $2,000-2,500 price tag.....
Any ideas?
Could I luck out on a Black Friday deal???

Any help would be great

Has anybody tried out the Stainless Steel Table Top that BGE markets for its lattice table (made for large green egg)?  If so, is it worthwhile to buy?  I really like the idea of having  surface that's stain free and easy to clean.

I know this might be a grey area.  I bought this about 3-4 yrs ago from a place in Springfield MO.  With the new house I am looking to build a custom outdoor BBQ area.  I am looking to sell this table in order to fund/build the new one.

It fits a Large/Medium BGE.  I had a L and then a mini on the counter top.  Its a commercial grade material.  It wont stain, rust, or deteriorate.  I usually just rinse it off with a hose and maybe add some soap.

Retail was $1800
Asking $500 OBO (Louisville KY)
Excellent Condition with extra attachments for tools, cutting board, umbrellas etc.

Finally figured out how to keep the little pellets going and have had some cheese on for an hour now.  How long should I let it go? I have read 2-4 hours.
Already planning to seal and keep in the fridge until NYE.

How to build rustic (cedar) overlay doors for BGE table

$

I'm building a table for my large BGE and the one side of the table will have either one or two (haven't decided yet) doors.  I have 2 questions:

1. How would I go about building these door(s) out of cedar (to match the rest of the table)?  These doors will be overlaying the trim.
2. Where can I find rustic hardware (door pulls and hinges) to go with these doors and table?

Thanks for any advice.

stainless table mod for my XL...advice needed

I found a 6'x30" stainless prep table in killer condition for 100 bucks locally... planning, based on the feedback here, to go this rout. My issue is the table has a fixed bottom shelf, that will be too short to support the bottom of the egg. I could stack some pavers I suppose to bring up the height to support the base. Is that my best option?

Has anyone done a square "hole" for an XL table?

My husband and I are about to build our XL BGE table tomorrow. Quick question as I firm up the plans: has anyone ever done a square hole for the Egg in the top shelf?  We don't have a band saw or  router to make it round and wondered if that would work,  with a square the size of the hole needed?   Thank you!

Hope everyone had a great Holiday. For Christmas my family purchased a gift card to a friend of mines business that makes custom furniture for me to finally get a custom BGE table.  Was hoping to ask the forum to see if anyone has any “must haves”
or things that they wish they added or did to their table that they realized after it was built.  I am sure I will get a bunch of interesting answers, but looking for some help. Thanks!  I will post the photos of the table once it is completed.
