@SGH, my friend, you have changed my life. While at the barber for my haircut, I decided to get a straight razor shaved as well. Best shave ever. Next thing you know I will be eating fried anus and cooking in the style of Dixie.

XL Table build with concrete top
Hello,
This is my first post here on the BGE forum. I have been lurking around on the site over the past year since purchasing my XL BGE. Currently, I have been using the nest that I purchased with my egg, but need some counter top space and room to store my place setter, pizza stone, and all other grilling accessories. So after much research on this site, I drew up a table plan which includes two doors, a center drawer, and a concrete counter top. I have been working on the table for the past few weeks and am about 90% finished with it. I still have to make the drawer, polish the concrete top and nest for the egg, add hardware, and seal the Brazilian teak decking.

JJ George table w/simple modification
I’m not even sure I’d call it a modification, because nothing changed; addition, maybe?
I like the table, but because it is urethane coated wood you can’t really put anything hot on it, and as we know sometimes things get hot around a BGE. So I got a couple 24” porcelain pavers at Home Depot, $20 each. They work perfectly, and look good. I put furniture glides under them, to keep water from getting trapped; not sure I had to, but I had them so I used them.

New Large & MiniMax cedar table build (modular nest inspired)
Looking at the new modular nest system helped me come up with a plan to build a custom table for my eggs. Didn’t get as far as I hoped on the weekend but this is the progress so far

New to forum and showing off
Hello all, just wanted to say thanks for all the great info on this site and well, I wanted to show off my new grilling station. It was just finished last week and while I didn't build it myself, I'm super proud of it.

Securing The Egg
I found a used small egg that I should pick up later this week. I want to build a rolling table so that I can take it with us in the RV. We have a toy hauler so space isn't an issue, but it will have to roll down the back ramp. Fairly steep angle with a sharp transition and then who knows what at campsites. I'm not worried about tipping, I will build the table accordingly. How do I secure the egg to the table so it wont slide when rolling or in transit. I know it cant go far, but would rather it didn't move. I'm thinking some thin cable attached to the band where side tables would go. Snug with a turnbuckle but not crazy. Any issues with that?

First Egg XL, Modular Table and Cover
This year I finally convinced my wife that if I renovated our screened in porch we could use the savings to buy a BGE. This past week was Louisville's EggFest at Brownsboro Hardware and I took the plunge. Bought an XL BGE, modular table with side table and ordered a cover from the Coverstore (style 171) since BGE does not make one yet.
I searched this forum for others that were looking for covers and could not find any posts so I figured I would share pictures of my new setup and the cover (it fits perfectly) to hopefully help someone else. Glad to have this group to bounce ideas off looking forward to sharing more as I learn.

Cedar Concrete Top Table with LED
Thanks to all on this site that inspired my build. It isn't perfect, but it looks and functions great. And now I have all the space to conceal all my tools and Blackstone griddle and propane tank.
I used a pine skeleton, covered with cedar fencing and trim. For the lighting effect, I added acrylic glass so that the light shows thru the top of the table. Also added a "channel" on the bottom of the top when the concrete was still wet, so the light strips would shine down without seeing them. For a personal touch, I added beach glass and rocks I found at the beach near me so they showed on the top. Cedar stained with 3 layers of Cabot Gold Sunllit Walnut

New LBGE Table with Concrete Countertop
Been looking all over the forum and elsewhere for inspiration. I'm nearly finished and couldn't wait to post some pics. It's certainly not perfect but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Gonna try to get the doors finished and installed this weekend.

Table build for medium egg
Going to build a table for my MGE pretty much using scrap wood I have.
What's the best with, height ad length? I want to make it wide enough to leave my camp chef ranger 2 burner on top and still have space to use when cooking.
Would love some advice.
Thanks.

Started table build
Well after all the questions I've been asking I started the build.:)
It's about 50/50 scrap wood I have and some new stuff from Lowes. Its going pretty good but the scrap is harder to work with being bent and lots of cracks.
Well I got the base together and used liberal amounts of wood putty to fill the bad areas.![Image: https://us.v-cdn.net/5017260/uploads/editor/ct/j58p1tuamh1l.jpg]()
Put the first coat of paint...

I got some of the cheaper 1x6 from Lowes so I'm going to put that on the lower deck in the morning. Just trying to come up with what the top needs to be.
I've seen some tables with gaps between the boards on the bottom...was considering doing that for air flow.

New Table Build
Just finished my new table and got everything transferred over this weekend and installed a new Rutland gasket. Thanks to Ron (AKA, RRP) for the new gasket and also a shout out to Marainwa for helping me out on my barndoor hardware parts list. As you can tell from the looks of my old table it was time for a new one. This table is based off of The Lowcountry Lady's table plans, I made a few modifications to it to suit my needs. ![Image: https://us.v-cdn.net/5017260/uploads/editor/5z/lp244o1sio0m.jpg]()

Cleaned my 3 year old table this evening for the first time....
My table has a sumbrella material cover on it to protect it from the UV rays. I mixed some Murphy’s Oil Soap and warm water in a bucket for a good wipe down. My daughter / SIL are in town for the weekend, and I had to get the table looking good for the @Killit_and_Grillit tailgate throwdown. Upon secound look, I didn’t see a valuable prize for the winner.....but ol well the Cocks / Kentucky score is somehow also part of the throwdown as well. Now i’m Not sayin he is representative of the brain trust of the state of Tennessee, but I must not be on the same plane as I am polishing things up for the big event. Back on point....I was right pleased with the condition of my table after three years of use and upkeep. It’s getting to be prime season for the outside and eggin....give your table a good wipe down as well. Egg on brothers!

Sanding and re-staining 2 Slat Wood Eggmates
So this may just be my OCD coming up but I can't stand that the wood egg mates come from the factory in this ugly doodoo brown color that looks like it was mopped on with a paint by numbers brush. It doesn't even match the wood handle color. I did a little searching but didn't turn up many results. Have any of you sanded down and re stained them? What type of wood are they, it looks to me that the wood is cedar, is that the case? If any of you have examples of what you have done please share. I think I am going to sand mine down soon and will post the process.

New large and medium cedar table with burner
Hello, I've been a member and lurking here since 2011 but this is my first post. I just finished my table this past weekend and got it moved from the shop to the patio. The center drawer has a two burner propane cooker with the tank stored behind the two doors. The drawers and doors all have soft close slides and hinges. The stainless steel insert is 18"x 18" and 5/16" thick. All the cedar framework is 1" thick. The siding is 1/4" thick.![Image: https://us.v-cdn.net/5017260/uploads/editor/lx/b56kpo2tqa6e.jpg]()
